My First Time in a Mikvah

Rosa Converted to Judaism
Mikvah

The first time that Rosa Bernstein, my mother, felt truly Jewish, was at the Mikvah. The reason she felt Jewish was because she felt it was extremely spiritual in a Jewish way. The fact that Rosa felt Jewish at this time was because she felt it was like something that she hadn't ever done before. Rosa was converted to Judaism when she met my father Mark, who had been Jewish all his life. Rosa was required to do the Mikvah, because all women do that when they convert. My mom said that this effected her because it made her feel part of the Jewish people for the first time in her life. That is the story of when my mother felt truly Jewish.
