A First Born Middle Child

A remarkable survival of a family

I was born during the war, 1944, to parents on the run towards Russia for liberation. After the war, my Father travelled to discover what was left, and found my Mother's daughter had survived after being taken in by gentiles. We adopted her at the age of 4.5 and so I become a first-born, middle child.
