 the picture from my grandma’s childhood, we can see my grandma sitting on the floor and holding a basketball. She was on basketball team for girls. This picture is from 1956.

In the picture you can see other girls who also played in a basketball team and the coach of the team, who standing behind the girls.

The picture was taken in the basketball field. All the players wear white vests and shorts.

My questions about the picture are:

What is the reason for taking the picture?

Where did they play?

How good was the team?

My grandmother Erella was born in 1940 in the hospital "Belinson" in Petah Tikva. Then she and her mother drove back to their home, Kibutz-Negba.

All the children lived together in the Children’s House, this place was like a guesthouse, and in this place my grandmother grew up. The children learned how to be farmers and how to be clever people with independent thinking. In the Children’s House the breakfasts were terrible, my grandma and the other children always threw out the food.

In the afternoons she went to her parents home, where she played and draw with her parents.  She loved to go on short trip in the Kibutz's fields with her father.

My grandmother was a beautiful and smiling sweet girl and to this day she remained like that.
