Joyce's Customs

Chanuka
Pouring Pesach Wine

Joyce Cooper, originally Kosloff, was born in Philadelphia in 1945.

When speaking of her Jewish identity, Joyce recalls: I remember that I really connected to my Jewish identity during Friday night dinners at my grandparent's house.

I still remember that when we had seders at my grandparent's house, my grandfather did every prayer very fast and not with the tunes that I knew. I also remember mixing wine with ginger ale and I also remember that I got so bored that I would fall asleep.

I still love lighting the Chanukah menorah but I especially love it when all of my grandchildren are together and we do it.
